Electra
October 9 - 18, 2025
The Classical Theatre Company opens up its 18th Season with the master of Greek tragedy, Sophocles, and his iconic play, Electra. It is the first time since 2009’s Antigone that CTC has produced a play by the playwright.
Electra follows the title character as she struggles with her grief and thirst for revenge following the murder of her father, Agamemnon, at the hands of her mother, Clytaemnestra, and her mother's lover, Aegisthus. Consumed by her grief and fury, Electra is determined to avenge her father's death, even as she is relegated to being treated as a slave. Her long lost brother, Orestes, returns from exile and the siblings plot a bloody revenge on their father's killers.
Directed by Jonathan Harvey, who most recently directed the critically-acclaimed R.U.R. and The Ghost Sonata for Classical Theatre Company.
